At First

Warning: This Poem is rated Mature and may contain material unsuitable for readers under 18.

At first you're nice.
At first I love you.

You touch my cheek.
I hold my breath.
My heart contracts.
You promise you wont hurt me.
I promise I am yours.

At first you're nice.
At first I love you.

You get angry.
I get slapped.
You turn away.
I start to cry.
You slam me into a wall.
I can't breath at all.

At first you're nice.
At first I love you.

You wait for me after school.
I worry I am late.
You drive too fast.
I hlod my breath.
You drive to the lake.
I get pulled out.

At first you're nice.
At first I love you.

You pay the bill.
My moniters beep.
You tell them you don't know
who it was.
I want to tell them it was you.
You touch my face.
My heart swells.

At first you're nice.
At first I love you.

You move me into your
apartment.
I have no friends.
You come home drunk
and take it out on my head.
I lay on the floor where
you left me.

At first you're nice.
At first I love you.

Now you live on.
Now I am dead.
